5 Tips for Trade Show Success
Trade shows are a wonderful environment for meeting new prospects and showing off your latest and greatest product or service.
While attending a trade show, it’s important to remember to take advantage of everything they have to offer−from meeting new prospects/networking, to handing out promotional products and making sure your target audience has a solid understanding of what your product/service is all about.
The next time you attend a trade show, keep in mind some of the following tips to make the most out of your experience.
Tip #1: Socialize
It’s vital to establish your company as friendly and outgoing.
In order to do this, make some time during your day to walk around, meet new people, and stop at various booths on the trade show floor.
You never know whom you might run into.
One simple “hello” could turn into an order for your company’s product or service. At the very least, you’ll probably make a few new friends along the way.
You truly can’t lose either way.
Tip #2: Bring Business Cards
Once you begin establishing new relationships, you’ll want a quick and easy way to stay in touch with them.
The easiest way to do this by exchanging business cards.
A simple business card with your name, phone number, email address, and company name is all you need.
Bonus Tip−Don’t forget to ask for people’s cards in return.
This is a great opportunity to collect information from people to add to your mailing lists.
Tip #3: Attend Informational Presentations
Many trade show events come with access to information presentations and lectures you can sit in on.
Attending these presentations is a good way to learn about new things happening in your industry.
They are also an opportunity to ask questions and form relationships with industry leaders.
Once again, you never know whom you’ll run into during these presentations.
The person sitting next to you might be faced with a problem your product/service can solve.
Don’t hesitate to reach out and attempt to establish relationships with those sitting around you.
Tip #4: Collect Feedback on your Product/Service
Setting up a booth and allowing trade show attendees to interact with your product/service is valuable for several reasons.
First off, it gives prospects a chance to play with and test out your product.
But most importantly, it gives your prospects a change to give you feedback based on their time spent interacting with your product/service.
After a prospect is done investigating what you have to offer, pull them aside and ask them for honest feedback.
Take notes about what the person liked/didn’t like about your product/service.
Make collecting information easier by handing out surveys to people who stop by your booth.
Bonus Tip−People will be more motivated to leave feedback if enticed with a free giveaway or prize.
Raffle off a gift card or product, or offer a small token of appreciation for everyone who provides you with information.
Tip #5: Distribute Promotional Products
Last but not least, trade shows are the perfect environment for distributing promotional products.
Why? Because people are going to take notice of others walking around with awesome new gifts from your booth.
And when they find out where the gifts are coming from, they will be sure to visit you.
There are many routes you can take when selecting promotional products to promote your business.
From technology-based products, to sweet treats, kitchen tools and beyond, there is a product for any type of business.
When selecting your promotional product, keep in mind that it should be useful and valuable to your prospect.
Junk tends to get thrown out, so make sure your gift is fun, has a purpose, and will catch the attention of other trade show attendees.
What a great way to promote your business and say “Thank you” to everyone who stops by your stand!
